Council adopts annexation ordinance for 5.67 acres in Glenwood, 5‑0

Senior planner Tom Seavers presented a staff report on a second‑reading public hearing for annexation of approximately 5.67 acres in Glenwood, comprised of five tax lots. Seavers said the area is contiguous to the city limits, is improved with commercial uses, and meets the applicable annexation criteria; staff prepared an annexation agreement that covers obligations by the applicants and the city, including future connections to city facilities and withdrawal from special service districts.

The council opened the public hearing; no speaker cards or raised hands were received and the council closed the record. Councilor (speaker who moved) moved to adopt the ordinance to annex the territory and withdraw it from special districts; the motion was seconded. The council voted 5‑0 to approve the annexation ordinance. Seavers said the annexation agreement is ready for execution by the city manager upon approval.

Motion and outcome: the council adopted an ordinance annexing Tax Map 17‑03‑34‑44 (five tax lots) into the City of Springfield and withdrawing the same territory from applicable special districts; recorded vote was unanimous of the five voting members present.
