Senate adopts committee reports, issues filing reminder and adjourns until Feb. 17

The clerk reported departmental communications and standing committee report numbers 2233 through 2270 for adoption. Senator Wakai moved for their adoption and Senator DeCorte seconded; the presiding officer asked for objections and, hearing none, declared the motion carried.

The presiding officer also reminded members that, pursuant to Senate Rule 21, notices for committee hearings to be held on the first workday of the week must be filed no later than 4 p.m. on the last day of the prior week. The clerk reiterated that hearing notices for Tuesday, Feb. 17 should be filed with the clerk by 4 p.m. that afternoon.

Senator Wakai moved that the Senate stand adjourned until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17; Senator DeCorte seconded. The presiding officer again asked for objections and, hearing none, the Senate stood adjourned until that date and time.

These motions were procedural and carried without recorded roll-call votes on the floor; the clerk earlier recorded attendance as 24 present and 1 excused.
