Newark City Council unanimously adopts consent calendar, including 6% pay increase for council and mayor

The Newark City Council approved its consent calendar by unanimous vote after a motion from Council Member Coiaso and a second from Vice Mayor Freitas.

Items on the consent calendar included approval of audited demands; routine September approvals; the second reading and adoption of an ordinance amending Chapter 2.09 of the Newark Municipal Code to increase the salaries of city council members and the mayor by 6%; a resolution approving a contractual services agreement with Dell for virtual server infrastructure replacement and an amendment to the city's conflict-of-interest code for non-elected officials and designated employees. The consent calendar also included notification of the city engineer's pending decision on the final map and subdivision improvement agreement for Tract 8583 (Cedar Homes).
