Amanda Peterson, the district representative for the American Indian Education Parent Advisory Committee, and committee member Shelly Castaneda presented the committee's annual concurrence review to the board.
Peterson said the committee reviewed required components and indicated the district is "in concurrence" with the current plan, while also noting several items the committee is still working to refine for next year. The committee held meetings in January and again in February to review goals and progress.
Peterson said the signed concurrence form will be forwarded to the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) to confirm the district and committee are working together on AIE goals. She and Castaneda asked the board to continue collaboration as the committee finalizes outstanding plan components.
The board was told the AIE plan and concurrence form were included on the consent agenda for routine approval. No substantive changes or votes specific to the AIE plan were recorded apart from its placement on the consent agenda.
