Board approves minutes, procurement items, contract and budget transfer; votes at a glance

The DuPage County animal shelter friends group approved a series of routine administrative and procurement actions and accepted two grants during its February 17 meeting.

The chair called for approval of the January 20 minutes; the motion was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote. The group then moved to close purchase order PO6309; that measure was approved by voice vote. The board approved contract ASP0001-26 with Curry Motors after a motion and second, and the chair called the vote and reported the motion carried.

An information item to place on file an amendment (information line 260658) to a purchase order issued to Imaging Systems was presented; staff explained the county will piggyback on an existing contract and use IDT to index scanned rabies certificates to reduce printing and rescanning. The board then approved a motion accepting a $20,000 grant from the Rachael Ray Foundation and separately accepted a $20,000 grant from Best Friends Animal Society.

Finally, members approved a budget transfer moving funds for building improvements into the information technology account. In each case the chair called for a voice vote and stated the motion carried; the transcript does not record individual vote tallies or the names of movers and seconders.

Recorded actions from the meeting will be incorporated into the organization's minutes and accounting records; staff were assigned follow-up tasks for grant implementation and for documenting contract and procurement changes.
