Gahanna City Council on Monday adopted its consent agenda, approved a board appointment and suspended council rules to adopt an alternate meeting schedule in April to support the city’s planned move into its new civic center.
Council members voted to adopt the consent agenda, which included Ordinance 5-2026 authorizing supplemental appropriations for the Central Park TIF Fund, the General Fund and the Cul-de-Sac Maintenance Fund. The roll call recorded affirmative votes from Renner, Jones, McGregor/MacGregor, Padova, Schnetzer and Weaver; Councilmember Bowers was absent.
In a separate motion, Council appointed Evan Ekos to Civil Service Commission seat 4 and Fair Housing Board seat 1 for unexpired terms ending Dec. 31, 2027. The motion to appoint was made by Ms. Padova, seconded by Ms. Jones and adopted by roll call.
Council also approved Motion 0008-2026 to suspend Section 5.2 of the rules of procedure and adopt an alternate meeting schedule in April to accommodate relocation to the new Gahanna Civic Center. Under the approved schedule, the final regular meeting at 200 South Hamilton Road will be April 6, 2026, the Committee of the Whole meeting originally scheduled for April 13 will be canceled, the April 20 regular meeting will be canceled, and the first meeting at the new civic center (825 Tech Center Drive) will be April 27, 2026 at 7 p.m., immediately followed by Committee of the Whole. The motion was moved by Padova, seconded by Jones and adopted by roll call.
Council members thanked staff for coordinating the transition and noted meeting notices will be issued with the updated locations and dates.
