Project managers gave status reports on Phase 1 school works at the HVACI acute building committee meeting Feb. 13.
Fairfield Woods: Speaker 7 said Fairfield Woods remains largely on hold because roof punch-list items are weather-dependent; TAB commissioning will visit today and Monday with Van Zelm, and Speaker 7 expects heating commissioning values to move from 90% to 100% after fixes from prior inspections. A temporary stair tower remains in place for safe rooftop access until contractors complete remaining roof work.
North Stratfield and Osborne Hill: North Stratfield has similar roof punch-list items with a remaining TAB check on RTU 1. Osborne Hill’s countertop installation was scheduled to be completed the same day, and a small number of roof items remain. Speaker 7 noted RFIs related to under-stage air quality and other details are pending responses from Jesse’s team.
Tomlinson: Work in the main gym was delayed because of the basketball season and is scheduled to start on 02/23, carrying into the April break. RTUs for affected buildings are tracking for early April delivery to Ferguson’s warehouse and long-lead items such as spiral duct for the main gym are on order.
What staff will do next: Project and district staff will continue coordinating TAB visits, resolve RFIs (rooftop grounding and under-stage air quality), monitor weather-dependent roof work, and provide lead times and comprehensive cost packages for remaining equipment and electrical scope at the next meeting on Feb. 27.
Quote: Speaker 7 summarized the TAB plan: “Tab is coming out today and Monday to do their final pass on the commissioning side of things with, with Van Zelm.”
