During a recent "On the Agenda" podcast, Reno City Manager Jackie Bryant recapped several presentations from the most recent City Council meeting.
Bryant said the Truckee Meadows Water Authority presented its 2025'2045 resource plan. The plan outlines long-term water-resource planning for the region, she said, but the podcast provided only the agenda-level summary and did not include detailed measures or vote outcomes.
Council also heard an update from the Truckee River Flood Management Authority on ongoing capital-improvement projects intended to address regional flood risk and river management, Bryant said. She highlighted that the authority has multiple projects underway to help the region.
Officials discussed an update on consolidating computer-aided dispatch and records-management systems under one regional Hexagon platform. Chief Cochran characterized the move to a single CAD/RMS as a way to eliminate call transfers and speed emergency dispatch across jurisdictions.
Jackie Bryant previewed items expected at the Feb. 25 council meeting, including a nomination to the National Register of Historic Places for the East Fourth Street Historic District, a potential grant from the Reno Rodeo Association to improve the Idlewild Park splash pad for inclusive play, a presentation on maintenance of the Reno Arch, and a Regional Transportation Commission 2027 interlocal agreement covering preventive maintenance, traffic-signal improvements and active-transportation projects.
