Rules and Ethics Committee rescinds Feb. 10 special order and adopts new Feb. 19 schedule; amendment deadlines set

On Monday, Feb. 16, the Rules and Ethics Committee adopted a new special-order letter for the Thursday, Feb. 19 session and rescinded the special order the committee previously approved on Feb. 10.

The meeting leader told members that "time allocations are included for questions and debate on all bills on special order" and then moved to rescind the Feb. 10 special order and adopt the new Feb. 19 special order. After no public testimony or debate, the chair put the matter to a voice vote; members responded "Yay," and the chair announced that the Feb. 10 special order was rescinded and that the new special order was adopted.

The committee also set amendment deadlines for the Feb. 19 session: main amendments must be submitted to House Bill Drafting by 3:00 p.m. and approved for filing by 4:00 p.m.; adhering amendments must be submitted to House Bill Drafting by 6:30 p.m. and approved for filing by 7:00 p.m.

Representative Salzman (HD 1) moved to adjourn at the close of business; the chair declared the meeting adjourned.
