Planning board approves minutes, elects Jeff Stevens as vice chair and welcomes new assistant planning director

The Fuquay-Varina Planning Board completed routine business at its meeting, approving prior meeting minutes, electing a vice chair for 2026 and introducing new staff.

The board approved the minutes from Jan. 13, 2026. A member moved to approve the minutes "as written," another member seconded, and the board voice-voted the motion as carried.

For item 3(a) the board nominated and elected Jeff Stevens to serve as the planning board vice chair for 2026; a nomination was made and seconded, and the board recorded its approval.

Chair and staff introduced Elliott Ward as the new assistant planning director. Staff said Ward joined from the Town of Morrisville and had served previously as a planning manager; board members welcomed him.

The meeting concluded after a brief planning staff report; a motion to adjourn was made, seconded, and carried by voice vote.
