Marysville approves $3,468 annual addition to Axon contract to cover two patrol vehicles

Marysville City Council on Nov. 24 voted unanimously to add $3,468.16 per year to the city’s existing five-year contract with Axon Enterprises Incorporated of Scottsdale, Arizona so the agreement covers two newly equipped patrol vehicles.

Chief of Public Safety Reeves told the council that the original contract — approved in June for $48,717.05 per year — omitted two patrol vehicles when Axon calculated costs. Reeves said both the vendor and the city "made a little oops" in the accounting and that his department’s vehicle was reclassified from a transport vehicle to one equipped and rated for patrol and pursuits.

"After we added all that in, it comes up to the additional $3,468.16 per year for that 5 year contract," Reeves said. The additional amount was presented as an annual increase for the existing five-year contract.

Councilmember Watson moved to approve the amendment; Councilmember Sherkey seconded. The recorded roll call vote was unanimous and the motion passed. The transcript does not show any requests to reopen the original contract terms or a line-by-line cost breakdown at the meeting.

The action updates the city’s contract obligations to include equipment and licensing for two more patrol-rated vehicles; the contract remains in effect under the originally agreed five‑year term with the stated annual cost increase.
