The Natchitoches Historic District Commission received informational updates on a proposed 7 Brew Coffee redevelopment at 200 Kaiser Avenue and on plans for a temporary and new Church Street bridge.
Staff member Shantel Rock said the coffee concept would occupy the old Burger King site at 200 Kaiser Avenue. Rock said the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has provided preliminary comments on drive access and that the developer cannot proceed until DOTD approves access points. The project will need a site plan, landscape plans and will return to the commission for formal HDC review when the developer is ready. Commissioners discussed parking, the combined lot area, landscaping to soften concrete, and the need to clarify ownership and subdivision of the lots.
Rock also summarized plans for a temporary bridge and the new Church Street bridge project: tentative project delivery date of Nov. 26, 2025, and a tentative letting date of May 12, 2027. The commission was asked to provide comments on iterations of the bridge plans and on tree relocation plans that accompany the project.
