Salem council sends proposed snow‑removal fines ordinance to committee after broad debate

Councilors debated a proposed amendment to Salem’s ordinance on fines for failing to clear snow and ice from sidewalks and voted to refer the proposal to committee for more study.

The ordinance was introduced by Councilor Hackworth.
