P&Z elects officers for 2026; Beamer remains chair, Hutchison named vice chair

The Casper Planning and Zoning Commission selected its 2026 leadership and assigned liaison roles during the meeting.

At the start of the meeting the chair announced that five commissioners were present and that Commissioners Ruble and Hunter were absent. The chair then opened nominations for vice chair. After nominations and a vote, the Commission congratulated Commissioner Hutchison on election to vice chair.

Nominations for the chair position produced two nominees, Commissioner Ruble and Commissioner Beamer. The commission voted and the chair announced that Commissioner Beamer will remain as chairperson.

The Commission also described liaison duties to sister groups, including the Old Yellowstone District advisory committee (OID). The body asked for two volunteers to serve on the OID committee and recorded that Commissioner Elston and Commissioner Hunter would serve as liaisons.

Attendance and procedural note: the chair’s opening statement listed Commissioners Ruble and Hunter as absent; the minutes later record Commissioner Hunter as a volunteer to serve on the OID committee.
