Monona media committee approves minutes, hears WVMO updates and schedules March meeting

The City of Monona Community Media Committee approved the minutes of its Jan. 8 meeting and received reports on WVMO production activities at its Feb. 12 meeting.

The chair called for a motion to approve the Jan. 8 minutes; an unidentified member moved to approve and the motion passed after vocal 'ayes.' Will reported WVMO is producing four business profile videos for Mesba (a compensated contract), recently recorded a profile for Polaris Professional Coaching, plans a recording at Salvatore's Pizza next week and is in early-stage discussions with Kara Erickson of the Friends of San Damiano about providing stage lighting and band booking for summer concerts at Lake Point Community Center. Will also said WVMO currently has two high‑school students working on recordings and hopes to increase that to three or four before summer.

The committee discussed newsletter content and whether departments were providing material; the chair suggested the city administrator or mayor could ask departments to submit a small number of stories annually to ease production. The committee set its next meeting for March 12 at 5:00 p.m. Anita moved to adjourn; the motion was seconded and the meeting ended at 5:57 p.m.
