Tipp City Council approves construction agreement for Fieldstone Place Phase 5; final plat taken up in first reading

Tipp City Council on the same meeting adopted Resolution 22 24 approving the construction and subdivider’s agreements to advance Fieldstone Place Subdivision Phase 5 and held a first reading of a related ordinance to finalize the phase’s plat.

Mr. Green presented the resolution, describing Phase 5 in one instance as “20 homes on just under 9 acres” and recommending adoption. When the ordinance final plat was read during first reading, the record included a different set of figures—“24 lots plus or minus 8.828 acres”—which the council did not reconcile during the meeting. The city sponsor for the ordinance was recorded as present and the ordinance was introduced for first reading; no final adoption of the ordinance occurred at this meeting.

The council opened a public hearing on the construction agreement; no members of the public spoke before the council voted to approve the resolution on the clerk’s roll call. The transcript records the resolution as adopted with affirmative votes recorded by the clerk.

Council discussion on the item at this meeting was brief and limited to the presentation by staff. Mr. Green indicated that the contractor had satisfied required conditions for progressing to Phase 5 and that the administration recommended adoption of the resolution.
