Resident Dennis Lieber addressed the board to ask when the township would fix drainage that caused water to flow across Trout Run Road during April storms and to ask where GLO Fiber will build high‑speed internet in the township. Lieber told the board he spoke with a road crew and reported field material buildup has diverted water across the roadway and expressed concern about damage to the road base.
Mark (Township Manager, first referenced SEG 003) replied that GLO Fiber has included Trout Run Road on its list, and staff expect GLO Fiber’s construction in Springettsbury to begin in the latter part of 2024 or, more likely, 2025 because other municipalities have priority in the company’s sequence. Mark said he did not yet have a construction sequence but agreed to publish specifics when they are available.
On the drainage concern, Mark and staff said they will inspect and 'straighten up' drainage ditches and provide a follow‑up to the resident.
Lieber’s comments highlight two recurring township priorities—road maintenance and broadband expansion—and the board did not take formal action at the meeting beyond staff follow‑up commitments.
