FFA member Wiley Evans presents creed to Henderson County board

The Henderson County Board of Education heard a short presentation from Wiley Evans, an FFA member preparing for a leadership development competition.

Director of Schools Beauchamp introduced Evans and his adviser, Kyle Evans, and invited the student to recite the FFA creed. Wiley recited the creed and then answered judges‑style questions about why he believes in the future of agriculture and the biggest challenges agriculture faces in the next decade. He said that while a small percentage of the population produces food and clothing, agriculture supports the nation and that the challenge will be increasing production on shrinking land.

Board members praised his performance and thanked him and his teachers for participating in the district’s school visits and extracurricular programs.

The board invited Wiley and the FFA officers to pose for a photograph and recognized FFA advisers and staff for their work.
