Suamico board approves consent agenda; accepts $1,250 donation to fire department

The Suamico Village Board approved its consent agenda and unanimously adopted Resolution 24014 to thank John Henry and Victory Village for a $1,250 donation to the Suamico Fire Department.

At the consent-agenda review, Trustee Eckert questioned a $6,060 repair listed on a Sept. 5 check register. The fire chief explained that one of the department’s firefighters had accidentally struck a glass door; the repair was paid to Overhead Door and later reimbursed by the insurance company minus the deductible, and that reimbursement would appear separately from the checks report.

Chief described the donation and the event behind it: proceeds from a revived "Beer Belly" run produced roughly 125 participants this year and the organizers intend for the donation to be an annual contribution to the fire department. The board passed the resolution by roll call, 7-0.
