Emergency Services Board elects Jay Nelson chair, Hetty Norris vice chair and Shawn Davidson secretary

The St. Mary’s County Emergency Services Board conducted routine business and elections during its Feb. 11 meeting. The board voted to approve minutes from the prior meeting and later accepted the 2025 annual report after a presentation summarizing membership, training and technology highlights.

Board members then held nominations for the 2026 officer slate. Jay Nelson was nominated and accepted the chairmanship. Hetty Norris was nominated and accepted as vice chair/co-chair. Shawn Davidson was nominated and accepted as secretary. Each nomination received a second and passed on voice votes; the chair announced each motion carried.

Ken Hicks moved to accept the 2025 annual report and Jason Adams seconded the motion; the board approved the report by voice vote. The meeting closed after additional routine reports and a motion to adjourn.

The minutes and annual report were accepted without recorded roll-call tallies; no board member announced opposition on the record.
