Staff said the model resolution was adapted for Wilson County and that the CTAS attorney and local counsel had reviewed the approach. Members discussed the eligibility date and reached consensus that the supplemental pay should begin Sept. 1 of the coming budget year. Commissioners confirmed that the training requirement for eligibility is eight hours and should be approved by CTAS (County Technical Assistance Service). Speaker 8 noted a prior meeting had discussed retroactive credit for prior service years and staff said they had left a date field blank for commissioners to decide.
A motion to recommend the resolution was moved and seconded; the committee approved the recommendation by voice vote. The resolution text and the chosen eligibility date will appear in the committee packet for final consideration.
