The California Board of Accountancy formally adopted a resolution honoring Katrina Salazar, CPA, for her years of service to the board and the public on Nov. 22. President Joe Rosenbaum read the resolution into the record, outlining Salazar’s appointment (Dec. 14, 2012–Nov. 26, 2024), leadership positions (board president in 2016 and 2023; vice president in 2015 and 2022; secretary/treasurer 2014), committee service, and professional roles including work with the California Society of CPAs, AICPA, NASBA and as CFO for the California Correctional Peace Officers Association.
Dan Jacobson moved to adopt the resolution and the motion was seconded. Public comment from a stakeholder praising Salazar’s volunteerism and contributions was received. During the roll call, Katrina Salazar abstained from voting on her own resolution; other board members recorded affirmative votes and the motion carried. President Rosenbaum noted the legislature had also provided a resolution recognizing her service.
The board’s action was ceremonial and expressive; no policy or enforcement consequences were attached. The board recorded appreciation and directed staff to finalize the resolution text for posting.
