Planning commission elects Dretske chair, Martin vice chair and sets regular meetings for second Tuesdays

The planning commission elected Mr. Dretske as chair and Linda Martin as vice chair during its organizational meeting, and set the commission’s regular meeting day to the second Tuesday of each month beginning in March.

Speaker 1 opened the meeting and called for nominations. A nomination and voice vote carried for Mr. Dretske to serve as chair; the motion passed by voice and the chair accepted the role. Speaker 3 nominated Linda Martin for vice chair; Speaker 4 seconded and the nomination was approved unanimously by voice vote.

Commissioners then discussed changing the regular meeting day because several members reported Wednesday conflicts. Speaker 1 introduced a motion to move meetings to Tuesday evenings; after scheduling discussion and subsequent motions the commission voted to schedule regular meetings on the second Tuesday of each month, effective in March, with staff to post the updated schedule and make chamber reservations.

Speaker 4 moved and Speaker 1 seconded a motion to excuse Commissioner Paul Ryan from the evening’s meeting; the motion carried by voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:47 p.m.

The actions recorded in the meeting minutes are procedural (officer elections and scheduling) and do not immediately change commission authority or project approvals; staff will update the website and notification procedures to reflect the new regular date.
