Committee votes 'ought not to pass' on LD 76, which concerned hatchery overtime pay

The Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee unanimously voted to recommend “ought not to pass” on LD 76, legislation that would allow the fish hatchery maintenance fund to be used to compensate hatchery staff for overtime. Representative Tiffany Roberts moved the recommendation and Representative Mason seconded the motion; committee members recorded a unanimous vote in support of the recommendation.

The item was introduced by staff as a carryover bill and committee members noted that the language in LD 76 had also been included in the supplemental budget. Representative Thorn thanked colleagues for ensuring the funding language had been tracked for budget consideration. The committee took no further legislative action at the work session and moved on to other bills on its agenda.
