Commissioners appoint Matthew Grantham to Recreational Lands Planning Advisory Committee

The Clatsop County Board of Commissioners voted to appoint Matthew Grantham to the countywide position on the Recreational Lands Planning Advisory Committee.

Corey Johnson, Park Supervisor, recommended Grantham’s reappointment, saying he has been "outstanding" and helpful in planning for Carnahan County Park. Commissioners said Grantham’s experience, including connections with state park efforts (ODF/other agency collaboration mentioned), contributes valuable expertise to an upcoming parks master plan update and discussions about fee schedules. Another applicant, Samuel Peterson, was noted as qualified and under consideration previously.

A commissioner moved and the motion was seconded; the board approved the appointment by voice vote. Staff indicated the fee-schedule work and a broader parks master plan update may be accelerated in light of recent budget discussions and that Grantham’s committee participation will inform that work.
