The Muskego City Finance Committee approved the partial purchase of a 2026 plow truck on Feb. 10, 2026, agreeing to buy the vehicle’s cab and frame now and to seek later approval for customization work.
Presiding official (Speaker 1) introduced the purchase request and moved approval; the motion was seconded by Speaker 3 and passed by voice vote. Committee member Speaker 4 pressed for budget clarity, saying, “Budget is 300,000. Total needed is 144,000,” and asking why a receipt for the customization portion was not included in the materials.
Speaker 1 said the city is purchasing only the cab and frame at this meeting, explaining, “this part right now is really just the cab and the frame of it. So we bought that. We will take possession of that. We're in queue for the customization of the back part of it, which will happen later this year, hopefully, so that we have it in place for 2027 fall season.” Speaker 1 added that if the total cost exceeds the $300,000 budget, the full package would come back to the council before additional purchases are completed.
The committee did not record individual roll-call tallies in the transcript; the motion passed by voice vote. The committee’s next step is to bring the planned customization and final costs to a future council meeting for approval.
