Economic-development report: one-page building guide, expanded staging area and local grant assistance

Councilor Jen updated the council on her first economic-development meeting, describing several staff and consultant initiatives. She said planners will create a one-page guidance sheet explaining whether a property is in town or county and what is required to build, intended to simplify permit navigation for prospective builders.

Jen said a portion of the 'thousand acres' will be flattened to produce about 15–20 acres of staging area, which could be used for event staging or expanded truck parking. She said the county plans to borrow some dirt from the parcel to grade the area and expand the chain of area used for staging.

Jen also highlighted a presentation by the Gosar Consulting Group, which she described as a firm that helps small businesses find grant money. She encouraged small-business owners to review meeting notes or speak with her for details.

She additionally noted an off-road 'overlanding' event (ATV/side-by-side vehicles) with limited entries and options to join or leave segments of the route; the event was mentioned in the context of local tourism planning.
