The Select Board opened the Feb. 11 meeting with two recognitions and routine business.
Fire Chief Michael Cranston recognized Kenneth Gullickson, who is retiring from the Nantucket Fire Department call force after 23 years. “Ken, we wish you the very best in your retirement from the call department, and we thank you for your service,” Cranston said, praising Gullickson’s reliability, training participation and support for full‑time crews.
Greg (announcements) reported that Town Clerk Nancy Holmes received the Certified Massachusetts Municipal Clerk (CMMC) designation from the Massachusetts Town Clerk’s Association and noted a press release is included in the Select Board packet. The chair also announced the town will launch its third community survey on March 2 and reminded residents that applications submitted to the town are public records; staff warned of fraudsters contacting applicants by email and advised verifying invoices with the planning office.
During roll call the board recorded attendance and later approved minutes and treasury warrants by unanimous roll‑call vote. The chair reported the African Meeting House vandalism investigation is ongoing and the town will provide updates when available. The meeting concluded after a unanimous vote to adjourn.
