The Village of Weston Board of Trustees appointed Joe Jordan to fill a trustee vacancy at its Oct. 21 meeting after an open interview process that included six candidates.
Trustees conducted brief interviews during the meeting and then used a paper ballot to register preferences. The clerk read ballot results showing a majority for Joe Jordan. "Joe Jordan is our appointed trustee for the remaining term," the president announced after the ballot reading. The board then made a formal motion to appoint Jordan to the vacancy through Apr. 15, 2026, and approved the motion by voice vote. Jordan subsequently took the oath of office.
During his interview, Jordan emphasized a long history of business involvement in the village area and a desire to support local development while protecting services for taxpayers. Several trustees said applicants gave thoughtful answers and praised the selection process.
The board also adjusted committee assignments: Jordan was appointed to the planning commission and as vice chair of public works, and trustees shifted existing committee seats to maintain required citizen membership on commissions.
Why it matters: Filling the board vacancy restores a full complement of trustees and immediately alters committee composition, which affects future land‑use decisions and public‑works oversight.
What’s next: Jordan will participate in upcoming planning and public works meetings and join the board’s deliberations on the 2025 budget and capital projects.
