Judiciary chair rebukes floor mischaracterizations, vows tighter control of committee process

She also told newer members the committee regularly amends bills and that she would use firm 'hard stops' on debate in committee sessions to manage time. The chair invited members to challenge her rulings on the floor or seek leadership changes, but said she would exercise her authority to limit repetitive testimony and delays that are not constructive.
