City of Costa Mesa Access Programming will host an All Abilities Resource Fair at the Costa Mesa Senior Center on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., organizers said.
The event is intended to be "truly for everyone," S2, an Access Programming representative for the City of Costa Mesa, said. "It could be individuals with disabilities, seniors, caregivers, family, youth, anyone who is interested in learning about what is available in our community." S2 added the fair will feature more than 25 vendors, including local providers, family support groups and medical specialists focused on emotional, mental and physical well-being.
Organizers described the fair as the third annual edition, and said they expand and diversify vendors each year to extend outreach to different community groups. Attendance does not require registration; S2 said, "No registration is required. Just stop on by from 11AM to 1PM." The fair will include raffles intended to encourage interaction among vendors, attendees and Access Programming staff.
City staff framed the event as part of a broader effort "to create adaptive, inclusive, and welcoming environments," and encouraged past attendees and neighbors to spread the word and bring family or friends.
The fair runs Saturday, Feb. 28, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Costa Mesa Senior Center. Organizers did not specify whether materials will be available in multiple languages or whether there will be on-site accessibility aides beyond the vendors and staff present.
