At its Dec. 29 meeting, the Weld County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine contract amendments, a small regional grant, fee-schedule updates and a surplus-property declaration.
Among the items approved were amendment No. 6 to the county’s case-management-agency intergovernmental agreement (Contract ID 10190), a work plan and notice of funding allocation for the WIOA adult and dislocated-worker program (Contract ID 10191), and amendment No. 3 to the Nurse Home Visitor Program contract (Contract ID 10193). Jason Cheshire of the health department said the Nurse Home Visitor amendment reflects a slightly lower indirect rate for 2026 and will reduce grant funding by about $12,000.
The Department of Public Health and Environment also presented acceptance of a $30,000 allocation for a Northern Colorado regional community health assessment and requested authority to disperse funds and approve a purchase order; the board approved that item. Cheshire told commissioners the award will pay, in part, for part-time staff support to conduct the assessment.
The board adopted revisions to the department’s 2026 fee schedule after staff said statewide fee increases (including food permitting and vital records fees) required local implementation. Commissioners discussed the justification and approved the resolution to implement the updated fees.
Rusty Williams presented an annual surplus-property list identified during fiscal inventory and the board authorized disposal. Separately, purchasing staff recommended awarding bid B2500145 for an undercarriage rebuild of a 2006 Caterpillar to Wagner Equipment for $75,465.83; the board approved that contract award by voice vote.
All items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. No public commenters addressed these agenda items during the meeting.
What happens next: departments will proceed with contract execution, grant administration and fee implementation per county procedures.
