Council accepts two small grants for social services and specialty dockets

Portsmouth City Council accepted the consent agenda items by a 7‑0 vote Feb. 10. The ordinances read into the record accepted: (a) $3,500 from the Virginia Department of Social Services for adult services funding to be appropriated in the FY2026 social services fund; and (b) $35,073.91 in specialty dockets grant funding from the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia to be appropriated in the FY2026 behavioral health care services fund for the Portsmouth adult recovery court.

Clerk reported both consent items adopted 7‑0; no council discussion was recorded on these items during the meeting.
