Board unanimously reappoints Dr. Micah Stauffer as superintendent for four‑year term

Chair Malone recommended reappointing Dr. Micah Stauffer as superintendent for a four‑year term beginning July 1, 2026, citing the statutory timeline in section 4‑201 of the Maryland Annotated Code. A motion to approve the reappointment was made and seconded, and the board approved it unanimously in roll call.

During the roll call board members (Mister Palmer, Miss Hazel, Mister Plots, Missus Beecham, Mister Brown, Doctor Ennis and Chair Malone) recorded aye votes. Dr. Stauffer thanked the board, acknowledged district leadership and partners, and reiterated the district's strategic priorities including school climate and safety, student achievement, engagement, workforce development and family and community involvement.

The reappointment is scheduled to take effect July 1, 2026, and is a public action taken pursuant to the statutory requirement cited by the board.
