The board policy committee reported to the full board on Feb. 9 that it reviewed several recommended updates from the State Board of Education and will forward the listed policies for full-board approval at the Feb. 9 work session.
The committee highlighted specific changes: updates to parent parental-involvement language (policies 13-10 and 4200) to reflect the annual update of a parent bill of rights and updated resource links; a change to Policy 32-20 (technology and education) adding that the superintendent will seek relationships with businesses and pursue grants to acquire technical resources; alignment checks between recruitment/selection policies (63-40 and 7100) to meet statutory language in 115C-253; and an adjustment to Policy 75-20 to move the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) rolling 12-month period effective July 1, 2026.
Board members heard the report; no contested votes or substantive objections were recorded in the meeting segment.
