House adjourns for lack of quorum; clerk announces bill reproductions and joint appropriations meeting

Speaker 1 opened the session by calling the House to order, but the meeting was cut short after Speaker 2 announced that "a quorum of the House is not present." Speaker 1 said the clerk would record the lack of quorum in the printed enrollment and the body would not transact business.

The clerk (as reported by Speaker 2) also announced that House bills read aloud in the transcript as "5 4 9 7 through 5 5 1 6" would be reproduced and made available electronically on Thursday, Feb. 5. The digits were delivered separately in the audio; the announcement is recorded in the transcript as the sequence above and is interpreted as House bills 5497 through 5516.

In addition to the bill notice, Speaker 2 announced a joint meeting of the House Committee on Appropriations and the Senate Committee on Appropriations set for Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. in Room 352 of the State Capitol; the transcript did not identify which state's capitol building was meant.

With no further business and the lack of a quorum, Speaker 1 declared, "the house will stand adjourned until Wednesday, February 18 at 01:30PM." The House is scheduled to reconvene on that date and time.
