The Clark County Urban County Policy Board convened for a largely informational session on 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME funding applications and heard a series of five‑minute presentations from nonprofit providers across housing, small‑business support and social services. Chair Glenn Young opened the meeting and staff said the purpose today was to hear applicant presentations and allow board members to ask clarifying questions. Because there was no quorum, the board did not take any formal actions.
Rebecca Royce, program coordinator and staff liaison to the board, told members the meeting materials had been emailed and pledged to post the agenda online after attendees flagged a technical posting issue: "We will make sure that that is posted immediately," she said. Royce also outlined the next steps for scoring and awards and scheduled a drop‑in technical assistance session for Feb. 23 for members who need help using the Neighborly application system.
Presenters described a range of proposals. Health‑care and public‑service applicants emphasized rising demand tied to Medicaid coverage changes and youth mental‑health need; housing applicants described projects to preserve affordability and build or rehab units targeted to low‑income seniors and people with disabilities; and several economic‑development groups outlined microenterprise and small‑business technical assistance and lending pathways.
Because no votes were taken, staff will compile scoring results from the scoring committee and board members and bring funding recommendations to the board at its March 9 meeting. Staff reminded members that scores are due by March 2 and requested that members access applications via the email links sent from Neighborly. The board also asked staff to resend access links and to put the Feb. 23 drop‑in session on members' calendars.
