Committee approves $50,982 contract amendment for Land Development Code phase‑1 costs

The Finance Committee approved Amendment #1 to contract 22-0521 with Clarion Associates to increase compensation by $50,982.06, bringing the contract total to $246,697.06, to complete work on phase 1 of the Land Development Code update.

Director Lamboy and staff explained the extended review process for phase 1 carried costs across fiscal years. Clarion agreed to assign the consultant who completed phase 1, and staff said the additional payment covers costs incurred at the end of the prior fiscal year. Committee members asked for clearer agenda captions to make such budget moves more understandable to the public.

Councilor Castro, who pulled the item for discussion, said the clarification was helpful; staff said they would review caption language across boards and committees. The amendment passed by roll call vote.
