Kelly Von Holtz elected chair of Tumwater Public Health and Safety Committee

Mayor Pro Tem Kelly Von Holtz was elected chair of the Tumwater Public Health and Safety Committee at the Feb. 10 meeting.

City Administrator Paul Simmons opened the selection process and solicited nominations. Kelly Von Holtz was nominated by a committee member and accepted the nomination; another council member self-nominated and accepted as well. The committee then voted; the chair announced a 2-to-1 vote in favor of Von Holtz.

The committee also discussed its regular meeting schedule. Members confirmed maintaining the current meeting time — the second Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. — and new member Brandon said that timing works for him.

The vote installs Von Holtz as the committee chair going forward and establishes continuity for the committee’s meeting calendar.
