Commissioners approve retirement badge and firearm for Detective Steve Gorski

The Valley County sheriff told commissioners on Feb. 9 that Detective Steve Gorski will retire in April and asked the board to concur with awarding Gorski his duty firearm and badge upon retirement under Idaho Code 31‑830. The board moved, seconded and approved the request.

The sheriff praised Gorski’s years of service locally and in California and said Gorski has mentored younger officers. The sheriff said the department is conducting interviews to fill the detective position.
