Applicant asks to postpone rezoning hearing for 1600 Old Highway 41 to March

Staff reported that Walton Communities LLC submitted a rezoning application for about 11.684 acres at the intersection of Old Highway 41 and Barrett Parkway and that the applicant’s representative, attorney Kevin Moore, asked for additional time to allow staff to complete review of a traffic impact study and to provide required public notice for an accompanying variance application. Because staff had already submitted a public notice to the Marietta Daily Journal, a public hearing was required for the current cycle; staff said the applicant requested postponement to the March planning cycle and the council noted the revised dates. The work session recorded no formal council action other than acknowledging the applicant’s request for postponement.
