Council moves multiple routine items to consent including Chalker Park equipment, concerts and dispatch consoles

During the work session staff presented a slate of administrative and procurement items and the mayor moved them to the consent agenda for formal approval at the regular meeting. Highlights included:

- A resolution authorizing PlaySouth Playground Creations to furnish and install playground equipment, rubberized surfacing and shade structures at Chalker Park for $191,561.20.
- A contract request with RCS Productions Inc. for the 2026 concert series (including a Salute to America event) totaling $135,900.
- A cooperative-purchase proposal through HDAC from Evans Consoles for four dispatch consoles at a total cost of $116,372.49, which includes three years of maintenance and installation.
- Road-closure requests tied to the Big Shanty festival and Parks & Recreation events (April 17–19) that staff asked the council to place on consent.
- A final plat application from Lynn Watts to consolidate six parcels on Maple Drive into a single 3.66-acre lot.

The work session did not include roll-call votes; the items were moved to consent with the expectation they will be voted on together at the council meeting. The alcohol retail pouring license hearing for Johnny's New York Style Pizza (change of ownership to Sri Pizzeria LLC; applicants Kinjal Patel and Prateek Kumar Patel) was presented and will remain set for next week when the applicants can attend to answer questions. Staff noted the distance survey shows the business lies within 300 feet of a private residence and that the council may waive that distance if it finds no adverse effect.
