Sunset Committee approves procedural motions, adds Medicaid advisory body to review and delays Board of Applied Behavioral Analysis review

The Sunset Committee took several procedural votes and scheduling actions during the meeting.

The committee approved the minutes for the December 16, 2025 meeting (voice vote; motion moved by Senator Lane and seconded by Senator Steinbeck). The committee then voted to add the Medicaid Reinvestment Advisory Committee (statutory citation discussed by staff) to the list of entities to be reviewed during the 2025–2026 interim; Assemblymember Wynne moved and Assemblymember Hafen seconded the motion, which carried by voice vote.

Later the committee accepted a request from the Board of Applied Behavioral Analysis to withdraw that board from this year’s selection because it is undergoing an audit by the LCB audit division; Senator Lang moved and Assemblymember Wen seconded the motion, and the motion carried.

Wendy Noor, Executive Director of the Board of Applied Behavior Analysis, called in to apologize for audit delays and said the board’s audit contract was submitted and approved in January 2026 and is nearing completion.
