Public works staff provided a project-by-project update, saying several projects remain contingent on right-of-way clearances and a judge's order for property issues. On Camera 61, staff said they were waiting for New York State DOT to provide an authorization letter and cautioned: "Probably gonna be another 2 weeks before we get that authorization letter from DOT."
Staff discussed sidewalk work that will require temporary closures during sheet-pile installation and crane setup; they proposed closures of one to two weeks and said temporary crosswalks, flyers and lighting would be provided to maintain pedestrian access.
A paving contract was out to bid with an onsite meeting and bids expected by Wednesday, Feb. 18. Staff said there had been substantial contractor interest and said they hoped to issue work early to get better pricing. Regarding scope, staff reported they were "getting ready at about 16 miles paid" and discussed plans for another 30 miles of surface treatments to advance service-preservation techniques rather than full reclamation.
Construction of the solid-waste maintenance building and scale house is progressing; staff said the building should be enclosed shortly so mechanical and electrical work can begin once heat is available.
On fleet replacement, staff presented resolutions for new crew vehicles to replace aging trucks (crew trucks expected within roughly 90 days). However, larger trucks with integrated snow and ice control equipment remain backordered; staff said those might take about two years to deliver, and they are exploring alternative upfitters and watching a sheriff's department enterprise fleet pilot before broader adoption.
Staff named a commercial vehicle vendor (Shultzford) and said the procurement was posted on the statewide mini-bid system, drawing bidders across New York. The meeting record does not include final contract values or specific delivery dates for the delayed larger trucks.
