Commission authorizes application for $500,000 jail recovery grant

County staff asked for authorization to apply for a $500,000 state grant to expand recovery programming for people in the county jail, including an initiative to initiate treatment while incarcerated and coordinate a handoff to community behavioral health services upon release. The program discussed would expand services, create referral linkages, and support continuity of care to reduce recidivism.
