Commission hears January preview: general plan introduction and Marina Street rezoning

At the Dec. 12 meeting staff said the Planning and Zoning Commission’s Jan. 9, 2025 agenda will include an introduction to the updated general plan and a rezoning application for 500 Marina Street.

Tammy DeWitt, community planner, said the general plan committee had moved the draft plan forward to public hearings. "Yesterday, our general plan committee moved it forward to public hearings," DeWitt said, and she directed commissioners to planprescott.com for draft documents and public-comment information. DeWitt said the packet will be posted ahead of the January meeting and that staff hopes to bring formal council action forward around Jan. 30.

Commissioners discussed sequencing for the Jan. 9 meeting and one suggested taking the Marina Street rezoning first so applicants would not sit through the entire agenda. Staff agreed to place the action item earlier in the meeting and to provide commissioners with updated materials before Jan. 9.
