Senators welcome Rocky Mountain Police and Fire Chaplains; chamber issues event notices

Senators used floor time on Jan. 22 to make announcements and recognize guests in the chamber.

Senator Byron Pelton introduced members of the Rocky Mountain Police and Fire Chaplains and described the chaplains' role providing spiritual and emotional support to first responders and families after traumatic incidents. Senator Michaelson Janae and others thanked the chaplains for their presence and work.

Senators Roberts and others urged colleagues to contribute to the junior livestock sale at the National Western Stock Show, reminding members the auction was that evening and requesting financial support for youth exhibitors. Committee scheduling announcements followed: the Senate local government committee and related Smart Act hearings were set to meet upon adjournment in the old state library; the Joint Budget Committee was scheduled to present the governor's budget to relevant committees later in the day.
