Council authorizes City Attorney expenditure and approves $225,000 settlement in Galloway case

Following an executive session, the Los Angeles City Council returned to open session and approved two administrative items reported out of closed-door deliberations.

The council authorized the City Attorney to expend $1,051,366 from Fund 593, Department 22, account J400; the roll call recorded 11 ayes and the measure was approved. Separately, the Budget and Finance Committee’s recommendation to expend $225,000 in settlement of the case titled Carl Anthony Galloway v. City of Los Angeles was approved on a roll call of 9 ayes and 2 no votes; the settlement was sent forthwith.

Both items were described as routine follow-through from closed-session recommendations; the council recorded votes and directed administrative processing.
