The Transportation Commission accepted Los Angeles Metro’s environmental findings for the Link Union Station (LUS) project and later approved an allocation for the Link Union Station phase included in the Southern California Optimized Rail Expansion (SCORE) program.
At Tab 54, staff said LA Metro adopted an addendum and supplemental environmental impact report and statement of overriding considerations, finding benefits outweigh impacts for the Link Union Station project. Caltrans staff recommended acceptance of that environmental documentation and future consideration of funding; the commission voted to accept the documentation.
At Tabs 74–77, commission staff presented several locally administered STIP allocations, including Tab 77’s request of $60.82 million for Link Union Station Phase A main construction contract as part of the SCORE program. Staff said change‑list updates were included and recommended approval. The commission approved the allocation; regionally‑based commenters and transit partners thanked the commission for continued support.
Commissioners voiced congratulations for the long‑running regional partnership to advance the LUS components and noted that the project is part of a larger effort to optimize rail capacity in Southern California.
