Superintendent Dr. Linford and district leaders introduced a large group of newly hired and promoted administrators, including TJ Strain (teaching and learning director, effective July 1) and Doug Forsgren (elementary school director). Multiple principals, assistant principals and administrative interns introduced themselves and summarized experience and assignments across the district.
Staff framed the introductions as a way for the community and board to meet new leaders before the school year. Speakers described experience, prior schools and the roles they will assume in 2026-27.
Following introductions, the district provided an update on its Cognia systems accreditation process. Staff said the district completed a multi-month self-assessment across Cognia's 30 standards and will produce a draft report by June for stakeholder review. The district plans July'September stakeholder feedback and expects Cognia to visit in the first week of November; board members should anticipate small-group focus interviews during that visit. Staff said the systems accreditation reduces burdens on individual schools versus prior approaches and that feedback will include parents, student advisory bodies and unions.
Board members asked what to expect in interview topics; staff said they would prepare board members in advance and that typical questions focus on governance, culture and leadership.
